Meet the QJMOTOR SRT600S – a Honda NX500 rivalling, adventure style, parallel twin that boasts a claimed 55bhp, heated grips and seat and even, for an introductory period, three-piece aluminium luggage set, all for just £4699.
The latest in a long line of affordable propositions from QJ, it's powered by a 554cc parallel twin featuring a 270 degree firing order, two rider modes and even switchable traction control.,
Peak power comes at 8,250rpm, with 39.9ft-lb of torque delivered from 5500rpm
The chassis looks equally credible. Intended as a road-orientated, touring ‘tall-rounder’, it boasts Marzocchi suspension front and rear, the front comprising 43mm inverted, multi-adjustable forks with a preload adjustable rear mono-shock.
There are road-orientated 17inch cast wheels fitted with Maxxis MaxxVenture tyres while the brakes are own-branded four-piston radial calipers biting onto twin 320mm front discs with a 260mm single disc at the rear.
With long distance comfort in mind, equipment includes a large 20.5litre fuel tank, two-piece saddle with 805mm seat height for the rider, seven-inch full colour TFT dash which includes a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), turn-by-turn navigation (via Bluetooth) and full LED lighting (including standard fitment DRLs).
The impressive equipment level doesn’t end there either. There are also hand, engine and sump guards (although, as it’s not designed to go off-road, they seem a bit superfluous).
And adding even greater practicality is a centre stand, heated grips and heated seat, along with USB and 12-volt charging sockets and, for a limited time, three-piece hard luggage as standard. This includes two side panniers and a top case.
The equivalent Honda NX500 starts at £6899, however likely benefits from a stronger parts back-up and dealer network.
The SRT600S is the latest in a rapidly expanding new range of bikes from Chinese newcomer QJMOTOR which is being brought into the UK by specialists MotoGB, who also import Voge, Morbidelli, Benelli, Keeway, and Benda.
It has a two-year unlimited mileage warranty, comes in three colours; red/silver, black, or beige and will be available through MotoGB’s range of dealers.
